The Crosstown label, under which my recordings are trademarked, follow the theme of exploring where paths intersect.

When I chose to trademark the name for my rock band, I wrote a collection of lyrics and music entitled "where these streets meet". In these songs, I strove to find the things which different people might have in common, or understand similarly, or maybe even feel the same about.

The intersections in life that embody and encompass half of one world and quite literally the half of the other were the places of interest for me. I was drawn to the differences like a magnet.

My preference for instruments whose dynamic range is wide and rich is clear in these recordings. The beauty in the subtle and gradual analog change in the sound and texture of an electric guitar as it becomes louder is a major element in my musical compositions.

That said, I am unafraid to explore a contextual change in direction that may be jarring and asynchronous, if it helps explain a certain feeling or mood. Graceful transitions and calculated and orchestrated dissonance are both consistent with the overarching theme of making that place in between "where things meet" appropriate to the creative task at hand. In music, as well, these annexations are all important and very often become the song itself.
