Most of the sketch/drawing examples here are freehand, with occasional use of perspective layout techniques to establish roughly an horizon line and vanishing points.

Drawing skills are critical in the design process; it is too easy to forget in these days of computerized drawing how important it is to put a pencil to paper.



Also documented are several of the contract drawings that were filed in the building of the projects presented in the "built" section.


I obsess on how things are to be assembled. Composite details contribute to the overall spirit of a project; I'm especially excited about how details at a small scale can reveal themselves in the larger gestalt.

The most interesting architecture is that wherein any part of it is a hologram of the project whole.
